Hey all, Robin here. So, I went to Amazon Author Central to claim The Storm (the first release from The Cycle series) under Michael’s name because it’s just come out in ebook and audiobook formats. Given that this is a short story, (and because my author dashboard is showing zero sales), I figured no one was picking up the story – which was disappointing, because I think it’s an amazing listen.
But then I noticed the book’s rank was in the three hundreds!?! Given that there is more than 1,000,000 audiobooks, that’s incredibly good. So, I went over to the various Amazon Best Selling lists – and low and behold not only was The Storm there, but so is Out of the Ashes!
This one was released through a publisher, so I have no idea how it’s sales are going, but it’s rank is in the 600’s even after a month of release. That’s a very strong showing. Especially for something that we’ve not really had any time to do pre-orer sales on.
So, all that was a welcome surprise. Sometimes being in this business you have no idea if people are interested in your tales or not, and until the reviews start popping up, you don’t whether people liked what you’ve created. It’s a bit like reading tea leaves.
So, if you were one of what I’m going to assume is hundreds of people who picked up one, or both of these new releaess . . . thank you. Especially for picking up Out of the Ashes. After twenty one books, it’s not really a big deal for us – but since this is Lorian’s debut, I’m glad it’s getting a welcomed recepton.
